"Oxford is determined to remain one of the world's greatest universities. But we find it difficult to accommodate staff in the Oxford housing market," Tim del Nevo, land agent for the University, explained to the Oxford Mail.
Mr del Nevo emphasised the importance of affordable housing in recruiting new staff and said that they hoped the scheme would increase the number of applicants for university vacancies.
The issue of key worker homes is becoming increasingly important as more public sector workers find themselves priced out of the market.
