South Wales is 'sexy' for property investment

16-Apr-2007

South Wales has been described by an expert as a "sexy" location for property investment, which may be of interest to first time home buyers looking to invest in the property market for the first time.

According to Andy Smith, managing director of 1st Property Investment, over the last five years, South Wales has seen robust investment levels, which may attract both first time home buyer investors and more experienced investors alike.

High levels of growth are also being found in locations such as London and the south-east.

"Wales has got an economy. It's actually sexy to live in places like Cardiff now," said Mr Smith.

"The top three places that have grown over the last five years have all been in Wales," he added.

However, according to Mr Smith, Manchester is not a good location for property investment because of the currently high levels of redevelopment taking place within the city.

In addition to being the capital of Wales, Cardiff is also the largest city.
