Scotland offers 'cosmopolitan' life for homebuyers
25-Apr-2007
Scotland's cities offer home buyers - which may include would-be first time buyers - a cosmopolitan lifestyle with good job opportunities, an expert has claimed.
According to Kate Hamilton from BuyAssociation, home buyers - such as first time buyers - considering a property in a Scottish city such as Glasgow or Edinburgh can benefit from easy access to the countryside, in addition to the numerous opportunities for employment.
"I think if you ask any London commuter what gets them down the most, it's generally the journey to work," said Ms Hamilton.
"If people want green spaces they have to move further and further out, which is great at the weekends but makes their [work] journey a little difficult," she added.
Indeed, according to the firm, the average property price in Edinburgh - Scotland's capital and second largest city - is now approximately £235,000.
