With first time buyers in Rugby, Warwickshire, Lancashire and the West Midlands already snapping up the reasonably priced properties, developers are keen to expand the range to the rest of the country.

The scheme aims to help younger and aspiring homeowners to get a foot on the first rung of the property ladder and recognises the importance of these people to a successful market.

Construction and development costs are kept low to ensure that prices remain low, with the properties in Rugby starting at £49,995 and going up to £109,995.

"Yorkshire is a place where we can grow our business, " Redrow chief executive, Neil Fitzsimmons, told the Yorkshire Post.

"Debut is a great opportunity for young people and key workers to buy good quality, affordable homes."

Redrow is currently in talks with local authorities in the area and hopes to gain the support of the regional development agency, Yorkshire Forward, in order to acquire the right land and begin construction.
