Property investors 'should enter Southern Italy soon'

28-Mar-2007

Property investors - which may include would-be first time buyers - should invest in Southern Italy's property sector before prices rise, an expert has claimed.

According to Andy Welland from Propertyshowrooms.com, although prices in Calabria are currently low, rises to a level comparable with Spain are likely; high summer rental yields are currently achievable and may be attractive to would-be first time buyers trying to generate a deposit for a property closer to home.

However, would-be property investors have also been cautioned to ensure they have taken care of all of the legal requirements of their investment project.

"People have this preconceived idea of Italy and that it's going to be expensive, but that's not necessarily the case, especially if you come down to Calabria," said Mr Welland.

"If you're looking for a typical English package holiday, you can forget it. [It's] all about the Italian experience and the laid back way of life," he added.
