Property industry 'supports' brownfield regeneration

17-May-2007

In news which may be of interest to first time home buyers, Britain's property sector supports the regeneration of brownfield land, an expert has claimed.

According to Andrew Teacher from the British Property Federation, redeveloping brownfield land is a positive solution, which may interest first time home buyers looking to purchase a property in an urban location.

Indeed, according to Vice Admiral Peter Dunt, chief executive of Defence Estates, English Partnerships has obtained enough land to develop 20,000 new homes nationwide over the course of the next decade.

"The property industry's very much behind regeneration and it's something we've been working very closely with the government [on] over the last few years," said Mr Teacher.

"A lot of the direction the industry's moving in reflects that; Government policy also reflects that," he added.
