Aspiring homeowners are heading up north, according to a new survey, as the number of new homes in the region increases.

Figures show that the number of new properties in Manchester has grown by 13.6 per cent since 2003, with a significant amount of apartment building schemes helping to attract buyers.

Industry experts have confirmed the interest in Manchester and attribute the rise in popularity to the "successful regeneration" of housing and business in the city.
Further plans to improve the availability of new homes are planned and are hoped to "open up new areas to developers and homeowners", as well as improvements to local transport links and facilities.
