Peterborough's Axiom Housing Association has revealed that it is entering into a deal aimed at increasing the number of affordable homes available in the region.

Many aspiring homeowners in the area are hoping that the new partnership should help them take an alternative route to getting onto the first rung of the property ladder by renting the affordable homes first.

The Longhurst Group is aiming to build around 1,000 affordable homes per year in the East Midlands region, and the agreement with Axiom will ensure that some of those homes reach those most in need of relief when looking to get onto the first rung of the property ladder.
