NAEA wins praise for HIPS preparation

23-Nov-2006

The National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) has been praised by the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) for its proactive stance.

Despite its opposition to the introduction of Home Information Packs (HIPS), the NAEA is to host a series of courses from next month to help estate agency staff cope with the transition.

Help will be provided to ensure that NAEA members are comfortable with all of the stages of the pack's development, in addition to support in areas that may lead to disputes.

"Despite the NAEA's continued campaign against HIPS, I am delighted to see that they are now facing the reality that as of June 1st 2007 HIPS will happen," said Paul Broadhead, director general of AHIPP.

"These courses are a vital step in the preparation of estate agents. I am pleased to see that [the] NAEA is now focusing its energy on taking positive steps," he added.

NAEA members had previously received questionnaires trying to ascertain the level of support for the introduction of HIPS.

Representing around 10,000 members, the NAEA is a UK-based organisation representing personnel from the real estate sector.
