Affordable housing for key health workers is to be built in Lincolnshire, it has been revealed.
Click here for information about key worker homesAn investment of £20 million is being placed in key worker homes for doctors, nurses and other staff near hospitals around the county, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has promised.
The move will provide a massive opportunity for aspiring first time buyers in the health service to buy their own home in the region and the scheme is designed to boost the number of key workers living and working in Lincolnshire.
Four sites across the county have been targeted as part of the project, and the programme will help to alleviate the problem of a housing shortage in the region by providing aspiring homeowners in the health sector with an opportunity to acquire the affordable housing.
Key workers will also be looking to the affordable homes as an opportunity to move into joint ownership, as the fact they are aimed at key workers means many may look to own the homes with friends, so that the cost is further reduced.
