Mr Llwyd spoke as he joined other Welsh MPs for a meeting at the Wales Office, saying: "New Labour has not done enough to tackle the massive housing problem in Wales."
He added: "We in Plaid Cymru have got a number of changes we want made. I will be urging the Minister to make a real difference to this pressing problem."
According to Mr Llwyd house prices in Wales rose 124 per cent between 1997 and 2004, but first time buyers and aspiring homeowners are being priced out of the market, as earnings have remained static in many areas during that time.
