Malaysia a 'better bet' for property investors
29-Mar-2007
Property investors - which may include would-be first time home buyers looking to purchase abroad - should opt for Malaysia rather than Thailand, an expert has claimed.
According to Marsha Lu from Property Frontiers, although the Thai government is working to retain foreign capital after the military coup of 2006, Malaysia is economically and politically more stable for investors, which may include first time home buyers.
Indeed, areas of Thailand have been spoiled by tourism and so Malaysia now offers investors and tourists a greater number of "better beaches", Ms Lu has claimed.
"Perhaps [with] Thailand, it's not the best time to enter the country. Everybody knows about the military coup last year," said Ms Lu.
"Malaysia became a very, very good property investment market at a similar time that Thailand became a hot spot," she added.
