House hunters head online
21-Jan-2008
People looking to buy their
first property are likely to start their search online, according to the head of a leading
property website.
Globrix chief executive Daniel Lee said that house hunters were more likely than ever to let the internet do some of the legwork.
Research published last year appears to support Mr Lee's assertions. It showed that the percentage of homebuyers prepared to do their research or even buy a
property online was increasing.
"Already most house hunters go online as the first step in finding a home," he said.
Mr Lee said that the industry was responding, with a number of estate agents investing heavily in their websites.
The internet has a number of advantages, especially for
first-time buyers. They can find information about the various types of home loans available and fill out mortgage calculators to see how much they can borrow.
