Government launches affordable rural homes inquiry

First time buyers looking to access affordable properties in the countryside are to be given a stronger voice in telling government what they want.
Click here to see what properties are on the market in your area – whether you buy alone or with othersA new inquiry has been set up by the government to look into the problems of delivering affordable housing in rural areas of the UK, and first time buyers' needs in these areas will be examined as part of the process.
The government is hoping to use the research undertaken by the inquiry to develop a concerted strategy for the creation of more affordable housing in the rural areas that need it most, and the study will also take into account a range of factors, including the environmental impact any development will have on the local area.

She added: "It must not become an old person's ghetto."
