First time buyers 'would prefer Hips'

24-Oct-2006

At a recent Hips conference, a vote indicated that both proponents and opponents of the pack would prefer to buy a home with the packs, as would first time buyers from the audience.

Mike Ockenden, director general of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers, said: " The overwhelming response from both audience and panel that saw 100 per cent agree that they would prefer to buy a home with a Hip, with even outspoken critics … raising their hands."

He maintained that this is a clear indication of consumer demand for the product and indicated that businesses and government must work together to prepare for their introduction.

In related news, a specialist Hips provider has been granted early adoption status for the shared ownership market, Firstrung reports.

The provision, known as Housing Association Resellers Pack Service, will feed back information to the Department for Communities and Local Government.

To ask about the legal costs of house-buying consult a good property solicitor.
