The permanent modular homes are growing in popularity as more aspiring homeowners find themselves priced out of the traditional property market and turn to a more affordable housing option.

Constructed within 12 to 16 weeks, the custom built homes can be purchased at a fraction of the usual house prices and offer high quality at low prices, according to the specialist construction companies which build the properties.

Potential property buyers can invest in a bungalow from just £23,795, while all homes come complete with fitted bathrooms and kitchens, as well as central heating and energy efficient appliances.

Declan McCloskey, of Coalisland-based Western Park Homes, told the Belfast Telegraph that the homes were a good way of getting on the property ladder and made ideal first time buyer properties.

"One of the most interesting features of modular homes is that, because they are deemed to be portable, they can be placed on-site in many circumstances, without the need for planning permission," he added.
