First time buyers 'to have easy access to transport hub'

23-Jul-2007

First time buyers in Luton are being offered the chance to purchase a home which provides easy access to all major transport links, it has been revealed.

Milliners Place, found in Luton town centre, features one to three bedroom apartments, all situated close to the train station and a five minute drive away from the M1, developers Redeham Homes have proclaimed.

The homes also feature original Georgian design that was a feature of the hat factory that previously occupied part of the development, with prices starting at £130,000.

Last month Luton council gave the go-ahead for an urban regeneration scheme that will see a £3.2 million housing project featuring homes designed to be environmentally friendly.

However, separate borough council approval for a public consultation on the use of greenbelt land in the area has attracted criticism from industry figures who say that the plans cross geographical boundaries and spread into North Hertfordshire.
