First time buyers set for sharers evening

18-Sep-2007

First time buyers looking to purchase property with a loved one, friend or fellow investor are being given a helping hand courtesy of a sharers evening organised by Kennet Island developers.

The evening will see first time buyers interested in purchasing property in Reading's new urban village being given the chance to look round two, three and four bedroom properties in the development, as well as potentially find the person with whom they want to share.

Independent advice will also be provided by a team of experts, with extra incentives such as a year-long health club membership available to those who reserve a property on the night itself.

"We have noticed a real increase in joint ownership and co-buying. So many more people are exploring the option of buying together in order to secure their first home," commented Helen Adams, managing director of first time buyer advice website FirstRungNow.com

"It's a fact that with property prices so high now that co-ownership or co-financing will provide the solution to many, enabling them to buy their first home.

This is now a standard and accepted way onto the property ladder," Ms Adams concluded.

The evening, which will take place on Thursday September 20th, comes as prospective London mayoral candidate Boris Johnson has said that he would provide the capital with more "imaginative" shared ownership initiatives were he elected.
