First time buyers clamber for MoD homes

New homes that have been made available by changes in government operations have been snapped up by first time buyers.

As many as 56 flats were bought by purchasers in less than 24 hours after the MoD put them up for sale on Saturday, with many first time buyers desperate to move into their new homes.
The rush of activity caused by the availability of the new homes highlights the problems currently inherent in the property market, as a lack of affordable housing is being felt not only in the big cities, but across the country.

Among those who managed to grab a new home in the Plymouth rush were many first time buyers who had camped out all week to make sure they did not miss the opportunity.
According to the BBC, some had been sleeping in their cars since Tuesday just to be sure of being in the queue for the properties.
