24-Apr-2006
The amount of affordable housing for west Norfolk has been boosted with the addition of two new housing developments.
A development of 45 new homes has just been opened in the South Wooton area by councillor Trevor Manley, the Mayor of west Norfolk and King's Lynn.
"It was a real pleasure to officially open not one, but two new developments in this area," Mr Manley told the 24-dash website.
He went on to say that there was a "very real need" for affordable housing in west Norfolk and the investment would mean that those who find it difficult to stay in the area because of high house prices can now do so.
Aspiring first time buyers considering affordable housing options should work with a good mortgage broker. The homes are being developed by the Broadland Housing Association and are situated in South Wooton.
Michael Newey, chief executive of the association, remarked to the website that this is just the first of 200 homes that Broadland will be delivering in 2006.
First time buyers can make buying a new home affordable through a 'gifted deposit' scheme whereby a deposit is not required just the cost of professional and arrangement fees of £5000There will be 20 homes at Broom Close and Blackthorn Road, which comprise of 13 two, three and four-bedroom properties.
In Tyrell Crescent there are 24 properties for rent, which are a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, as well as three bungalows which have been specially designed for wheelchair users.
Mortgage lenders have risen to the challenge of creating a growing number of options for first time buyers.
