First time buyer group 'refunds' purchasing costs
18-Oct-2006
The first time buyer group has announced details of a new service for first time buyers.
Under the new scheme, first time buyers will be eligible to receive a full refund of their "usual" purchasing costs, including stamp duty tax, legal fees, arrangement fees, reservation fees and the survey charge.
However, only five per cent of the first time buyer's deposit will be returned.
"With the media reporting on … how many first time buyers are struggling to find suitable properties and having enough money saved for all of the necessary purchasing costs, we realised that there was a solution," said Simon Butnick, director of the first time buyer group.
In order to qualify for the "reward" programme, first time buyers are required to pay the group an initial refundable charge of £3,000.
The charge is used to cover any initial costs, such as for reserving a property.
Working within the property sector for over two decades, the first time buyer group specialises in helping first time buyers purchase their first property.
