13-May-2008

First-time buyers struggling to get a foot on the property ladder may want to check out the offers available to them at Equinox in Cheltenham.

New buyers in the region are being given a helping hand with a new initiative from Barratt - Head Start.

Available for a limited period on apartments and houses, the Head Start deal aims to provide good quality affordable housing for those looking to get into the property market.

Under the scheme, first-time buyers can secure a mortgage for 85 per cent of the total property price, with Barratt financing the remaining 15 per cent for up to ten years.

Furthermore, Barratt will also pay the five per cent deposit for first-time buyers.

Andrea Pilgrim from Barratt, said: "The affordability difficulties faced by first-time buyers are still an ongoing issue and Barratt's Head Start scheme is tailored exclusively to help these people get on the property ladder."
