Feedback suggests support for Hips
15-Jan-2007
Early feedback from the launch of Home Information Packs (Hips) suggests that first time buyers and repeat purchasers may be welcoming the move.
Initially launched across six locations by the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP), the trial of Hips suggests strong consumer support and may benefit first time buyers looking for reassurance about their prospective new home.
According to AHIPP, early reports suggest that over 700 new packs have been commissioned so far since November.

"We are delighted to be offering our consumers an opportunity to sample the packs ahead of their mandatory introduction next June," said Kit Johnson, director of Kit Johnson Residential in Bath.
"We hope it will make the whole buying and selling process more transparent, helping to speed up transactions which is what the consumer wants," he added.
Before the full introduction of Hips in June, the trial is to be extended to a further 12 locations across the UK.
Founded in 2005, AHIPP was established in order to represent the organisations that will be a central pillar of the new Hips programme.
