Europe is 'more attractive' for first time home buyers

30-Mar-2007

European locations are more attractive for UK first time home buyers looking to purchase an overseas property, it has emerged.

According to Paul Collins, overseas property editor at BuyAssociation, first time home buyers generally purchase properties close to the UK to ensure that they can "keep an eye" on their investment.

Furthermore, Mr Collins cautions against first time home buyers investing in the Australian property market as the country is currently experiencing a price correction.

"[So] you haven't got people now that are buying [in Australia] in the hope of selling on in six to nine months and making a huge profit," said Mr Collins.

"I think there are more attractive options for first time buyers in Europe really," he added.
