Deposit, legal fees and stamp duty addressed by latest developer deal

23-May-2008

First-time buyers in Leicestershire are availing of one developer's offer which includes financial help with deposits, legal fees and stamp duty, it has emerged.

According to Easier Property, George Wimpey's Groby properties opened earlier this month, with four of the homes already snapped up.

"Purchasers can benefit from George Wimpey's 'easymover secure' scheme, which offers five per cent deposit, legal fees and stamp duty paid for first-time buyers," explained the publication.

Homeowners selling up to move to the development can also reserve a property "and then sit back and relax", the news provider states, as the housebuilder will find a buyer for their property, guarantee 100 per cent of the market value and pay the estate agents' fees.

The affordability difficulties faced by first-time buyers were also addressed earlier this month by fellow developer Barratt.

As part of the firm's Head Start initiative, first-time buyers in Cheltenham can secure a mortgage for 85 per cent of the total property price, while Barratt will also cover properties' five per cent deposit.
