Converted buildings provide new properties for home buyers
27-Jun-2007
A series of converted buildings are now available for purchase by homebuyers following the completion of a significant restoration project, it has been advised.
The Dairy Mansions in Cheam, created via a renovation of old Dairy Crest properties, are joined by a selection of entirely new homes in a new development that retains the character of existing buildings in the community, developer Linden Homes has advised.
A show home will allow interested parties to try out the new properties, though a starting price of £299,995 is likely to be out of the reach of many first time buyers.
"The scheme makes excellent use of previously vacant buildings and disused land which are now being brought back into the community. Urban regeneration schemes such as these are essential for ensuring the ongoing posterity of our towns and villages," commented Linden Homes South East managing director Paul Cooper.
First time buyers and key workers should be helped in their efforts to continue living in their local communities despite rising property costs, it was advised earlier this month.
