Britannia extends availability of fixed-rate mortgages

30-Jan-2007

Britannia Building Society has announced its intention to extend the availability of its fixed-rate range of mortgage products, potentially being of benefit to first time buyers.

Although Britannia had initially agreed to maintain availability until February 1st, this has now been extended until February 8th, which may offer first time buyers and repeat purchasers a degree of stability after recent interest rate rises.

"We've built a range of fixed-rate mortgages that guarantee your monthly payments so that you'll know exactly what you're paying over the coming years," says Britannia.

"Fixed-rate mortgages are available if you're a first time buyer, moving to a new home or looking to move your mortgage to Britannia," the company adds.

Britannia offers a range of fixed-rate mortgages, including a two-year fixed product with an interest rate of 5.34 per cent.
