Britannia announces new range of mortgage products

26-Oct-2006

Britannia Building Society has announced its new range of mortgages for first time buyers.

The building society has launched three new three-year fixed-rate packages specifically for first time buyers, with interest rates ranging from 5.44 per cent to 5.84 per cent for the initial fixed period.

After the initial three-year fixed period, an initial standard variable rate of 6.4 per cent will apply.

"We believe these changes will make [these products] a best buy for customers," said Tim Franklin, managing director of member business for Britannia.

"A fixed-rate mortgage enables you to budget more easily knowing that your monthly repayments will not change. We are delighted to offer these new rates," he added.

Britannia's new range of fixed-rate mortgages are free of all administration and arrangement fees.

A two-year fixed-rate option is also available from Britannia, with an interest rate initially fixed at 4.64 per cent.
