Brighton is a hit with homebuyers, says expert

30-Jan-2008

Brighton is a popular choice for today's homebuyers due to its "London feel" and "extremely good transport links", which may be of interest to first-time buyers.

Brighton & Hove Family Homes has said that it is a popular alternative for Londoners as the high cost of a mortgage in the capital can often force them to look elsewhere.

Commenting on Brighton's reputation as a property "hotspot", Charlie Snell, director of Brighton and Hove Family Homes, commented: "Many people have taken the option to move out of London - house prices are more expensive there and people can't afford the properties they want. You can either move out to the Suburbs, or you can choose somewhere nice."

The efficient links to the capital mean that it maintains an atmosphere similar to London while having an identity of its own, he continued.

Mr Snell also noted that there is a population of independent-minded people and a "funky" feel that adds to its uniqueness.

This could be of great interest to young people looking for their first property.

Elsewhere, Sussex estate agents say they are confident that there will be no property market crash in the region, reports Homemove.
