As part of the plans by the national regeneration agency, 130 of the affordable homes will be set aside for the development of innovative and energy efficient houses, through the agency's design and manufacture competition.
The scheme will form the first phase of housing developed under the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's (ODPM) First Time Buyers' Initiative (FTBI), and the government has revealed that the site will also be an important area for the development of key worker homes.
