Barratt Homes to launch first time buyer team

31-Jul-2007

Barratt Homes has announced that it is to unroll a new initiative designed to do everything possible to help first time buyers purchase their first home.

Earlier this month the developer revealed that it was offering homes in parts of Southampton for a down payment of just £99, and now the firm is looking to extend its efforts to other parts of the country.

The two week campaign will see an 'FTB Team' visit Gloucester, Bristol and Wiltshire in an effort to publicise developments designed specifically for first time buyers.

"We can help with everything from a deposit for a first home through to paying stamp duty and even have Parent Power - an initiative whereby parents and Barratt both contribute towards the cost. We want to ensure that potential buyers know what is available locally and how they can own their own home," commented sales director Louise Ware.

Last week Bradford & Bingley's annual First Time Buyers Report suggested that 13 per cent of those looking to get onto the property ladder are now so eager to secure a deal that they make an offer for the first property they view.
