13-Apr-2007

In news which may be of interest to would-be first time home buyers based in Northern Ireland, Bank of Ireland has announced the launch of Giraffe in the province.

Although the Bank of Ireland has been offering its online mortgage proposition in the mainland UK for the past year, the is the first time it has become available to customers - such as first time home buyers - across the Irish Sea.

"We are very excited about launching Giraffe in Northern Ireland today," said Alison Pallett, head of consumer lending at Bank of Ireland Personal Lending UK.

"Giraffe is all about meeting certain customer's needs and making their mortgage selection as simple as possible," she added.

The online proposition from Bank of Ireland offers a range of products, such as self-certification and buy-to-let mortgages, and are available to clients that include repeat purchasers, in addition to first time home buyers.

Bank of Ireland was founded in 1783 in Dublin.
