Alliance & Leicester announces improvements to specialist mortgage range

13-Dec-2006

Alliance & Leicester has announced a number of improvements to its specialist mortgage range, which may benefit first time buyers.

First time buyers and repeat purchasers looking to buy-to-let or obtain a self-certification mortgage are now able to acquire fixed-rate mortgages for 5.13 per cent and 5.24 per cent respectively.

For homebuyers whose personal circumstances suggest opting for a self-certification mortgage, a two-year fixed-rate package is available at 5.24 per cent.

"Our intention is to be a serious broad-based lender with a consistent and reliable range of mortgage deals alongside excellent service," said Mehrdad Yousefi, head of intermediary mortgages at Alliance & Leicester.

"We now boast a great range of mortgages, enabling brokers to service a broad range of clients," he added.

Alliance & Leicester are also offering a buy-to-let variable-rate mortgage, with an interest rate of +0.24 per cent above the Bank of England's base rate.

All mortgages from the specialist mortgage range are available through an intermediary.
