Alliance & Leicester offers 8.1% Isa for 'limited period'

11-Apr-2007

In news which may be of interest to prospective first time home buyers looking to save for a deposit on a new home, Alliance & Leicester is offering its Premier Isa until April 30th 2007.

Available to clients who open an Alliance & Leicester Premier Current Account - which may include would-be first time home buyers - the new Isa is available with an interest rate of 8.1 per cent per annum gross/annual equivalent rate.

All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

"While many people leave it until the last minute each year to take advantage of their annual Isa allowance, I would urge savers to turn this habit on its head and kick-start the new tax year by saving in an Isa now," said Ross Dalzell, savings manager at Alliance & Leicester.

Interest on the account is paid on an annual basis on January 31st and withdrawals are free of any charges or penalties.

Alliance & Leicester offers a range of financial services and products, including mortgages and credit cards.
