Builders across the UK are showing signs of improved sales on the back of the government's drive to increase the amount of affordable housing.

One example of this process is building and infrastructure group Morgan Sindall, which has seen a boom in the number of affordable houses that its affordable housing arm, Lovell, is now building.
Lovell has revealed a profits increase of more than 50 per cent as the demand for affordable housing has shot up.
That demand is coming from a number of directions - politicians, aspiring first time buyers and key workers are all campaigning for the number of homes available at a low price to be dramatically increased.
